Event 1
Sunshine, dry, 75 degrees and a pleasant light breeze, can this really be East Kilbride in June? The first round in the Scottish T15 Series was hosted by East Kilbride Eagles at the James Hamilton Heritage Park and the spectators got to watch some very exciting racing as they sunbathed. The 32 competitors were arranged into 3 fleets of 3.5 to 5.5, and 6.8, with the fleets running in back to back races. With 3 consecutive wins the 3.5 Class was won by Loch Insh Monster David Taylor, but the real class battle was for 2nd place, between Monster Rhys Cornfield, and Clyde Barracuda Holly McPhail and was decided in the last race with just 1 place separating them. East Kilbrides Kirsty Meek was the clear winner in the 4.5 class with Loch Inshs James Tailor in second and Barracuda Calum Kerr taking 3rd place and first Techno. There was nothing to separate Monsters Chloe Robinson and Derek Hoogerbrugge in the 5.5 class with Chloe taking the points on discards. 3rd place went to Barracuda Katie Beattie who produced some of the best from behind finishes of the day. The first 6.8 race started a little shakily for Barracuda Jordan OHara who was rescuing a 3.5 sailor when the start flag was raised and battled back through the field to pip team mate
First round of the Scottish T15 went to the Loch Insh Monsters, with Clyde Barracudas in 2nd and East Kilbride Eagles in 3rd. Many thanks go to the RYAs Robin Nicol, Race Officer Ian Jackson, and Andy Kerr and Kate Bird on Results. The next round is on 30th June at Castle Semple Loch, Lochwinnoch. Dont forget your sun cream and your rain jacket as well, just in case. Team winners - Loch Insh Monsters |

The Green Blue is an environmental awareness initiative by the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. One of its aims is to educate and promote the sustainable use of coastal and inland waters by watersports participants. Some of the initiatives have a relevance to windsurfers - especially in achieving cleaner seas and beaches.
