How long have you been a T15 club?
Since the start of Team 15 in 2001

Where is your club?
Hythe, on the South East coast near Dover.

When does your T15 club meet?
Thursdays and Sundays from March to October.

How much does a session cost?
We don’t charge our team members.

Do you have equipment if clubbers don't yet have their own?
We have some basic beginner’s equipment to hire.

How would you describe your T15 club?
A friendly club where you can expect to get lots of support and help from your team mates who are great fun.

What's really cool about your T15 club?
We were the winners of the Team 15 Champions Cup in 2005. We are one of the few sea-based clubs in Great Britain. There is also one of the few adult racing fleets, which we get to join in.

Have you taken part in any T15 inter-club competitions yet?
We have competed in all the South East Zone inter-club events since the start of  team15 in 2001.

Which club members are currently in your racing team15?
Alec Barry, Jack brooks, Sam Conroy, Claudia Carney, Evie Carney, Fredo Edwards, Stuart Hards, William Hurrell, Jamie Farnes, Rachel Finch, William Lama, Sam Latham, Andrew Petts.

What has been your best team result?
Winning the National Team15 Champions Cup in 2005.

Do you have a website with T15 details on it?
Yes, hssc.net features an excellent website full of club news and photos.

What are your plans for the club?
We would like to have at least 15 members competing regularly.

What would you say to people considering joining T15?
Come along and give it a go. We don’t expect you to be an expert, if you’ve just learned to windsurf and want to improve then come along to one of our sessions.

Finally, any top tips for T15 clubbers?
Yes, don’t take life too seriously; having fun is more important than being the best. Practice your skills and challenge yourself every time you get on the water. Learning new techniques means you fall in a lot, but don’t give up, everybody has to start somewhere. Practice on the sea is essential if you want to get really good, it's also great fun.

ADOPT-A-BEACH

The Green Blue is an environmental awareness initiative by the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. One of its aims is to educate and promote the sustainable use of coastal and inland waters by watersports participants.

Some of the initiatives have a relevance to windsurfers - especially in achieving cleaner seas and beaches.

Adopt-a-Beach is definitely relevant to T15ers, which is a Marine Conservation Society project supported by the Green Blue.
