Event 3 Tamar Tigers Roar Back
After registration a coaches briefing was held and this decided the format for the day. Due to the lack of wind and there being some very new team members the first 2 races involved paddling around a course and then finding the T15 Coordinator who was hiding from the rain in his van (I was really trying to keep the score sheet dry, honest! - Ed). Charlie Winn from the Tamar Tigers was first to get to the finish with Izzy Hamilton of Tamar a close second, Crag Langmead of the Siblyback Water Warriors (Tushingham sponsored) interrupted the flow of yellow vests representing the Tigers to take third place in the first race. Race 2 was carried out using the marks in reverse order and this made the paddle a little harder against the win. Charlie proved that his muscles had not tired out by winning the second race as well, but Joe Davidson of the Roseland Wave Riders (Bic) dashed into second place just ahead of Izzy.
After a break for lunch we extended the course and held another 2 races; the 3.5 and 4.5 fleets were sent off first making the bigger fleets work for the overall places. Charlie Winn took the overall 1st place for the Tamar Tigers (Bic) followed by Craig (Siblyback) and Will (Roseland). The last race was held as the wind started to die off and a rolling mist enveloped the lake. Duncan Bryan (Wave Riders) proved his pumping was up to the task of taking first place in difficult conditions closely followed by Charlie (Tigers) and Craig (Water Warriors). After the scores were totalled, Luke, representing the host team and from SW Lakes Trust, presented the trophies. The Tamar Tigers roared to victory taking the team prize; on behalf of the Tigers Lizzie Poultney was ecstatic, "All the hard work training over the cold weekends in the spring has paid off and we are looking forward to the next event in the series at Roadford lake in 3 weeks time". A special mention must go to Dominic Russell from Stithians Allstars (Neilson) who was the only member of his team to compete at this event and we hope he will bring along a few more team members for the Roadford event on 26th June. The T15 sponsors were thanked for their support - Neilson, Tushingham and Bic and of course, the coaches and parents were thanked immensely for standing in the rain all day supporting their clubs. See you all on 26th June for more action. Team winners

The Green Blue is an environmental awareness initiative by the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. One of its aims is to educate and promote the sustainable use of coastal and inland waters by watersports participants. Some of the initiatives have a relevance to windsurfers - especially in achieving cleaner seas and beaches.
