How long have you been a T15 club? 6 months - since May 2003.
Where is your club? James Hamilton Heritage Park, East Kilbride, near Glasgow.
When does your T15 club meet? Monday nights between 6pm and 9pm.
How much does a session cost? £3 for kit and wetsuit hire for 3 hours
Do you have equipment if clubbers don't yet have their own? We are able to supply all equipment to our clubbers although some of them are hoping that Santa will 'deliver the goods' with some new kit at Christmas
How would you describe your T15 club? A fairly informal get together of junior windsurfers who have their level one windsurfing certificate, where the emphasis is definitely on fun and progressing through experience. Our T15 squad certainly does have a tremendous club atmosphere which is all down to the clubbers themselves.
What's really cool about your T15 club? The attitude of its members, the venue, the high standard of kit available and the head coach!
Have you taken part in any T15 inter-club competitions yet? Yes. We organised our first T15 event, which took place at East Kilbride in October. The event was run in conjunction with Clyde Windsurfing Club and was a huge success.
Which club members are currently in your racing team15? All of them!
What has been your best team result? Runner up at October's event
Do you have a website with T15 details on it? Only an email address theeaglehaslanded@wigwamoutdoor.co.uk
What are your plans for the club? To retain those who are committed now, to increase the number of new members, to enhance sailing ability and promote enjoyment for all who take part. We also hope to be instrumental in arranging more interclub meetings next year
What would you say to people considering joining T15? Do it. Windsurfing is often hard and sometimes lonely to do on your own. Joining a T15 club transforms the sport!
Finally, any top tips for T15 clubbers? When windsurfing...
- Do it because you enjoy it
- Time on the water is the time that really counts
- Experiment! And
- Respect your kit, the environment and each other
