Class: Mistral
D.O.B. 13th August 1980
Born: Norwich, Norfolk
Currently living:
Weymouth, Dorset
Started sailing At: the age of 7 on the Mistral at Ferry Meadows, a small lake near my parents' home in Peterborough
Duration in current class: Since 1999
Biggest goal: To win an Olympic Gold Medal - but Bronze will do nicely thank you!
Other interests away from sailing: Cycling, home renovation

What an Olympics, eh? And how well did the Team GBR do, in particular Nick Dempsey winning the first ever Olympic windsurfing medal for Britain?

Nick sailed superbly to win the last race of his 2004 Olympic campaign and take BRONZE MEDAL for team GBR.

Well done Nick - absolutely fantastic!!!

For a full report on Nick's outstanding achievement, the 9th place that Natasha Sturges achieved in her first Olympic campaign in the Mistral Class, plus the efforts of all the sailing team and the five sailing medals - including 2 Gold - check out the dedicated RYA Olympic website: http://www.gbrsailing.org.uk/

Nick will be at the Youth & Masters at Weymouth on 25/26th September to provide T15 Clubbers and other participants a first-hand account of the whole Olympic experience. If you want to touch an Olympic medal then make sure you attend! Details on the main RYA website - http://www.rya.org.uk/ or follow the link from the T15 website homepage.

ADOPT-A-BEACH

The Green Blue is an environmental awareness initiative by the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. One of its aims is to educate and promote the sustainable use of coastal and inland waters by watersports participants.

Some of the initiatives have a relevance to windsurfers - especially in achieving cleaner seas and beaches.

Adopt-a-Beach is definitely relevant to T15ers, which is a Marine Conservation Society project supported by the Green Blue.
