TSG TECHNO SUMMER CAMP
Posted On:  10/06/2008 3:11:03 PM

One for all abilities, though potentially higher level than the RYA/T15 Transitional Summer Camp. Whether part of a Zone Squad or not, you can apply for this camp and will train alongside those preparing for the Techno Worlds. Ideally you should be at least level 1 ability (or Stage 2 of the new RYA Youth Windsurfing Scheme) and have an interest in course racing.

RYA coaches will deliver this dedicated race training camp on behalf of the Techno Steering Group (TSG) with the aim of developing young windsurfers into better racers. It will take place on 28-30 July 2008 at Northampton Sailing Club (Pitsford Reservoir). Accommodation will be in the form of camping with access to club facilities and you will need your parent(s) or a guardian to attend for the duration. To get the best out of the camp a Techno board is preferred - so try to borrow one if you can - although other T15 kit will be fine. The three day camp costs £110 per sailor and includes coaching, camping and all meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner).

35 spaces are available on a first come, first served basis, so hurry. For further information and an application form visit: http://www.techno293.org.uk/

Two other summer camps are also available; see the two news items above, and the one below for details

ADOPT-A-BEACH

The Green Blue is an environmental awareness initiative by the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. One of its aims is to educate and promote the sustainable use of coastal and inland waters by watersports participants.

Some of the initiatives have a relevance to windsurfers - especially in achieving cleaner seas and beaches.

Adopt-a-Beach is definitely relevant to T15ers, which is a Marine Conservation Society project supported by the Green Blue.
