RIKS SPORT, NAISH & TUSHINGHAM/STARBOARD DONATE FANTASTIC PRIZES
Posted On:  09/10/2008 12:24:18 PM

A BIG THANK YOU to Riks Sport, Naish Sails UK and Tushingham/Starboard for donating some fantastic prizes for the winning club at the T15 Champions Cup 2008.

For the third year in a row, a Bic Techno 293 OD board was presented by Rik of Riks Sport. This superb club prize will enable more T15 sailors to try a Techno, which is the designated board for those wishing to get into the RYA Zone Squads and National Junior Squad. Many thanks to Rik for the prize and for attending the event to present the board to the wining team - the West Kirby Warriors.

Not only did Rich Marsh from Naish Sails UK give up a weekend of his time to attend the T15 Champions Cup, offering demo kit for T15 sailors and parents to try, he very generously donated a superb Naish Ripper rig for the fourth year in a row. Cheers Rich! This excellent rig was on show all weekend in the event marquee, waiting to be taken home by the winning team. What lucky T15 sailors the West Kirby Warriors are!

And if this wasn't enough, the very generous guys at Tushingham/Starboard added to the club haul. In 2008 the winning team walked off with not one, but two boards and rigs thanks to Tushingham/Starboard. To add to the Bic Techno 293 and Naish Ripper rig, the Warriors took home to the Wirral a Starboard Pro Kids Sonic Board and Tushingham Dino sail. Many thanks guys...

But the biggest prize of all was the T15 Champions Cup! This magnificent cup can be proudly displayed in the club house for a whole year and the Warriors name will be added to those of previous winners - Hythe Hotshots (2005/2006); TeamAstbury (2007); West Kirby Warriors (2008).

ADOPT-A-BEACH

The Green Blue is an environmental awareness initiative by the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. One of its aims is to educate and promote the sustainable use of coastal and inland waters by watersports participants.

Some of the initiatives have a relevance to windsurfers - especially in achieving cleaner seas and beaches.

Adopt-a-Beach is definitely relevant to T15ers, which is a Marine Conservation Society project supported by the Green Blue.
